What’s heading to Prime Video in July? Here’s everything coming to Amazon Prime Video in July.
An absolute dump truck load of films are hitting the Prime library, many of which will be streaming for free (no Prime subscription needed) on Freevee (indicated by *). One popular new release joining the Prime family will be House of Gucci starring icon Lady Gaga and Oscar bait Adam Driver.
House of Gucci was nominated for both Razzies and Oscars, so the quality of the Ridley Scott opus depends greatly on who you talk to. Despite Jared Leto’s over-the-top and Razzie-worthy performance, the film still has a lot working in its favor, including the aforementioned Scott.
Add in a captivating performance from Lady Gaga plus Adam Driver who makes every project he’s in better by simply existing, and you’ve got a recipe for a great night of streaming.
Top all that with a truly compelling story of true crime involving one of the wealthiest families on the planet, and House of Gucci is a can’t-miss, even if only to try to work out exactly what part of Italy Gaga et all are supposed to be from with these oddball accents.
House of Gucci is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video beginning July 2nd.
In the realm of original content, Amazon drops the teen time traveler series Paper Girls at the end of the month. Based on the comic of the same name by Cliff Chiang and Brian K. Vaughan, Paper Girls follows four girls in 1988 as they accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves transported to the year 2019.
Inevitably, the girls come face-to-face with their adult selves. And their journeys along the way help each of them to discover their own strengths so that the four friends can come together to try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future.
Sounds a bit like Stranger Things meets Back to the Future and we are here for it.
