Prime Video gets Prime Day bennies, too

Prime really has grown up since its initial launch. From its first original television program, Hunters to The Boys, Prime has invested significantly into its exclusive offerings.

Original Shows

Outer Range

When a rancher (Josh Brolin) stumbles on a large hole in the middle of his western fields, he finds out there’s a lot more mystery to his property and his own life than he ever could have imagined in this exclusive hit from Amazon Prime.

Night Sky

Franklin York (J.K. Simmons) and his wife Irene (Sissy Spacek) have a secret. Years ago they discovered a secret chamber underneath their property that leads to a desloate planet filled with mystery. They’ve been secretly visiting the chamber and watching the planet for clues about its purpose but have yet to find anything other than a door to the planet at any time – though passing through would mean certain death. However, when a mysterious man appears in the chamber they begin to quickly realize they aren’t the only ones on Earth who know about the planet.

Reacher

Based on the books by Lee Child, Reacher follows Jack Reacher after he’s arrested for murder. The police need his help and he’ll have to navigate a complicated maze of corruption among police and politicians, and uncover a conspiracy that only he can make right with his wits and skills.

The Wheel of Time

Set in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only some can access it, a woman named Moiraine crosses paths with five young men and women. This sparks a dangerous, world-spanning journey. Based on the book series by Robert Jordan.

The Boys

The Boys are back at it again in Season 3. After watching Vought go through some significant changes in Season 1 and 2, the Boys are still working to stop the evil supes that parade themselves as heroes, though now they’ll have to do it with an unhinged Homelander in this Amazon Prime original hit series.

These titles and more, as well as exclusive Amazon Video discounts, available now for Prime members.

Prime Gaming

Amazon Prime Gaming (Luna), a response to Apple’s Game Center, includes seemingly endless content for the casual gamer.

For the most part, Prime games are built for Windows devices that can run them with low technology resources. However, Prime members are also eligible for exclusive in-game content. For example, Call of Duty Mobile is currently offering an in game pack called Merc 5 to Prime members, which includes operator skins, weapon blueprints, calling cards, stickers, and other in-game content. Specifically, the Merc 5 skin and Boogie emote are included in this pack.

Prime includes bundles like this for other games as well, such as PUBG, Battlefield, League of Legends, GTA, Fifa 2022, Warframe, Assassin’s Creed, Roblox, Apex Legends, and more.

Windows games offered on Prime include titles like Gone Viral, Bang Racing, The King of Fighters, Metal Slug, and even a free copy of Far Cry 4.

Prime Music

Of all the benefits of Prime that you wouldn’t expect, this one may be a favorite for many viewers.

Boasting over 2,000,000 songs at no cost for Prime members, Prime Music won’t have everything on your checklist, with new songs coming and going every 3 – 6 months or so.

And while you won’t get access to Amazon’s 90 million song catalogue, believe it or not, free feels pretty good, and you’ll adjust.

For example, if you want to listen to Post Malone’s Wow and Motley Crew, with Motley Crew being the newer release, you’ll likely only have a small window where they’re both available at the same time, with one becoming unplayable for a month or so or replaced by the clean version. Believe it or not, the inconvenience of having to get your fix by listening to a missing song on YouTube isn’t that much of a burden, considering you’re saving money each month, and their catalogue – we think you’ll find – will be sufficient once you get used to it.

Prime Music also gives members access to thousands of stations and playlists, along with the ability to listen offline (as you would with any paid app) and millions of podcast episodes (if Apple/Android’s solution isn’t doing it for you).

Prime Reading

Another excellent benefit for avid readers is Prime Reading, which may be the second-most (after Prime Music) underrated benefit that almost no one talks about.

Prime Reading provides members with unlimited access to a rotating catalog of eBooks and audio books and a free pre-release every month from the editor’s picks. You’ll also get free access to magazines and comic books, all available on your Kindle and Audible app.

This service works similarly to Prime Music, where you’ll get access to the hits, but think of it more as a digital library, where you have to plan a bit more and grab titles that are relevant to you as they come – but again, worth it not to have to pay for books or an Audible subscription every month.

Prime Try Before You Buy

If you’ve ever ordered clothes online only to find out that sometimes size doesn’t matter, this benefit will come in handy.

Prime Members get the option – for no additional free – to select from great brands for women, men, and kids across clothing lines, shoes, jewelry and accessories.

Choose up to 6 items and Amazon will give you a 7 day try-on period, and you’re only charged for what you keep.

Amazon also provides labels for returns so the service is 100% no cost for you to use.
