First reactions for Netflix’s The Gray Man start pouring in

The Russo Brother’s newest action flick, which follows one of the CIA’s most skilled mercenaries “Court Gentry” (aka Sierra Six) after he uncovers agency secrets and becomes a target of his own employers, is getting quite a bit of buzz this morning as first reactions are beginning to appear online and on social media.

Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans’ new Netflix movie is being called James Bond meets Fast and Furious.”

Matt Neglia, of Next Best Picture, tweeted “THE GRAY MAN is a tactically aggressive, assassin action film by the Russo Brothers. Ryan Gosling brings his usual stoic toughness against Chris Evans’ wicked charm. Not as impressive as the Mission: Impossible or John Wick films but still a hefty piece of popcorn entertainment.”

RamaScreen.com posted “The Gray Man is 2022’s perfect summer action flick. Adrenaline-fueled & hugely entertaining! Ryan Gosling was badass. I loved every minute of Chris Evans’ delicious ruthlessness.”

The consensus certainly feels like the film is fun, guess we’ll find out soon. The Gray Man hits theaters this Friday and drops on Netflix next week!

Peacock’s Yellowstone snubbed by Emmy voters for the fourth year in a row

Wow. For the most watched show on television, the internet woke to a bit of a shock after the hit series and Kevin Costner were snubbed for a fourth year in a row, failing to nab a single Emmy nomination on Tuesday.

Averaging 14 million viewers each week and becoming the catalyst for three spinoffs (1883, 1923, and 6666), the Paramount Plus goliath has become one of the most valuable assets for the streamer, who has racked up 40 million subscribers in just over a year. The question remains, however, will the hit western ever find a way to kick up some dust in California?

HBO’s Succession put a bow on it with 25 nominations, including Best Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Jeremy Strong), Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Sarah Snook), and Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Hope Davis, Sanaa Lathan, and Harriet Walter).

HBO’s Euphoria, Barry, and Curb Your Enthusiasm also made the list.

Meanwhile, Squid Game made history for Netflix as the first non-English-language television drama ever nominated by the Academy, with Ozark and Stranger Things both receiving 13 nominations as well.

Check out the complete list of nominations.
