BTS signs exclusive deal with Disney+
In another aggressive move on Netflix, Disney announced that it planned to bring exclusive BTS content to its viewers over the coming months. BTS, the world’s biggest band, has agreed to provide 5 new titles to Disney, including at least one concert in LA and a behind the scenes documentary.
Jessica Kam-Engle, Disney’s head of content in Asia, offered a statement.
“This collaboration represents our creative ambition — to work with iconic content creators and top stars in Asia-Pacific so their talent can be enjoyed by mainstream audiences in multiple ways. We believe these new titles will captivate consumers worldwide and look forward to introducing more music content on our service.”
While BTS is loved around the world, the streamer has made a significant push into Asia proper to increase its viewership, announcing plans to greenlight 50 original titles to the region, including South Korea, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and Indonesia by 2023.
