10 Days of a Good Man drops this Friday on Netflix. But what’s the use of being a good person? Can you say you are decent if you have never hurt someone? Is it wrong to be willing to get your hands dirty for the sake of justice? Meet Sadik: unlikely to remain a “good man.”
10 Days of a Good Man is based on the novel of the same name, which was written by Mehmet Eroglu, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Damla Serim. Uluç Bayraktar is the director. What is 10 Days of a Good Man about?
According to the film’s synopsis, the Turkish series will introduce us to Sadik, a lawyer-turned-private investigator who “takes on a missing person’s case, sending him on an unexpected hunt that will transform his life.” Until now, Sadik has been harmless, self-sacrificing, dependable, noble, moral, and so on, but does that make someone a good man? Sadik takes on a case that will test this notion.
10 Days of a Good Man is part of a series that will be translated into a trilogy of three films, based on the book, and will depict Sadik’s transformation from an ordinary person to an anti-hero as he looks for answers. As Sadik shifts from good to evil, from bad to indifferent, all who come into contact with him experience their fair share of justice; but none will ever be the same again.
According to IMDB, the film’s cast includes Nejat şler, Nur Fettaholu, enay Gürler, layda Alişan, layda Akdoan, Erdal Yldz, Ata Artman, Esra Ronabar, Barş Falay, Yurdaer Okur, Rza Kocaolu, and Kadir Ermik.
What can we predict from the 10 Days of a Good Man trailer?
The trailer begins with Sadik talking about time served incarcerated: six years and nine months, 13 months in jail, and 77 months overall. But was it Sadik or an innocent person he’s put behind bars? He’s then given a new assignment: a young boy has been missing for a month, and it’s very likely he’s being tortured.
Sadik takes the case, but the trailer suggests he’ll run into countless obstacles. “Funny, mention checkups and get a toothbrush,” Sadik says as he leaves an interview. From there, he runs into wall after wall. No one is talking and Sadik isn’t welcome. “If you don’t leave now, I’ll have you dragged out,” Sadik is told.
There’s much more to this case. As he delves deeper into his investigation, the distinctions between good and evil become increasingly blurred as Sadik, a good man, pursues justice in a world of smugglers and killers.
Foreshadowing his shift to anti-hero, Sadik says in the trailer, “after all, even a decent man may become a villain when he wants justice.”
Streaming This Weekend has given 10 Days of a Good Man a projected audience score of 83.
The new Turkish thriller will be available on Netflix on February 10, 2023.
